Great Gardens of Cornwall

A milder than average climate has given Cornwall the opportunity to host a range of beautiful award winning gardens. Sub-tropical species thrive and vibrant colourful plants can be seen throughout the year.

The Eden Project

Housing the world’s largest living rainforest in a giant biome and Mediterranean plants in another, Eden is a show stopper. Wonder at the waterfall, discover a Malaysian hut, tropical plants and enjoy the scents of citrus fruit as you wander the pathways. If you dare, climb the steps and marvel at the view above the tree top canopy!

Outside the biomes, wind down the pathways filled with seasonal plants and discover how the project came to life, carved into a disused china clay pit.

The Eden Project has consistently been voted as the top UK attraction and provides fun eco-friendly education for all ages. Head to ‘The Core’ for hands on activities or to the café’s or restaurant and enjoy dishes made from many of the produce seen en-route.

Opening Times

Usually open every day except Christmas day.

Last tickets are sold half an hour before the biomes close.

Please check opening times before your visit as biomes may close early to maintain the health of plants.

There are also many seasonal activities.

Pinetum Lodge and Pine Lodge Gardens

Discover a range of beautifully laid out gardens with over 6,000 labelled plants carefully grown from seed after being collected from around the world by the owners. An inspiration to any horticulturalist!

Each garden has its own theme, atmosphere and appropriately planted specimens. The intimate Japanese garden, complete with stepping stones across the pond, contrasts with the wide open ‘pinetum’ resplendent with pines and conifers. Look out for the resident black swans who inhabit the lake.

A plant shop sells many of the plants seen in the gardens and a tea room with home made produce complete the gardens.

Opening Times

The gardens are usually open daily, all year round but please check with them direct before planning a visit.
